It is recommended that you contact your insurance company to ensure mental health services are covered. Some insurance companies have a co-pay and deductible and it's the responsibility of the customer to be aware of their own insurance benefits.
Need additional support? Ask about our case management services and fees.
Our fee structure reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of the community we serve. Choosing self-pay over insurance is a thoughtful decision that holds several advantages for our clients. This approach grants us the freedom to tailor our therapeutic strategies without external constraints, focusing solely on individual needs. It fosters a more personalized and client-centered experience. Moreover, self-pay enhances privacy, safeguarding confidential details by eliminating the necessity to share diagnostic information with insurance companies. This approach benefits our clients in several ways:
Affordability: Self-pay rates often result in lower overall costs for clients compared to using insurance, as there are no copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket expenses associated with insurance plans.
Flexibility: Without the constraints imposed by insurance policies and networks, we have greater flexibility in tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each client.
Accessibility: By offering self-pay options, we ensure that individuals who may not have insurance coverage or who prefer not to use their insurance for privacy reasons can still access high-quality mental health services.
Overall, this way, our commitment remains steadfast in providing the best, tailored support for our clients.
Trailside's services for individuals seeking support/therapy prioritizes the preservation of privacy and confidentiality through self-pay options, ensuring your personal information remains protected from insurance disclosures, aligning with our commitment to empowerment and advocacy for client autonomy.
Insurance providers require a mental health diagnosis, justification and clinical treatment planning in order for counseling to be covered. In addition, they have the right to audit your records at any time to be sure they are paying for justifiable diagnosis with their approved treatment methods. When you pay out-of-pocket, you are guaranteed that the only people who know any of the details of counseling are themselves and their therapist. There is no third-party who can audit your records and know the details of what happens in your private session.
Money is an integral aspect of our lives and significantly influences our overall well-being. We advocate for open and direct conversations about finances. If you find our fees unaffordable but believe our services align with your needs, we are open to discussing sliding scale options tailored to your financial situation. Please note that our sliding scale therapy slots are limited and are allocated based on your available resources and our schedule availability. Let's engage in a direct dialogue to explore potential options together.
What if I don’t have health insurance or choose to pay for care on my own without using my health insurance?
If you don’t have insurance or you out-of-pocket pay for care, in most cases, these new rules make sure you can get a good faith estimate of how much your care will cost before you receive it.

Medicaid and Medicare Participants
Trailside Therapy is unable to accept self-pay from Medicaid or Medicare participants for all “covered services". Medicaid and Medicare have strict guidelines and it is legally not an option to receive out-of-pocket services. In doing so it could result in the participant losing their Medicaid or Medicare benefits.
